When I first came to Sun & Shield many years ago, Dean was the first person to greet me with a smile and handshake. Later Deb and I were honored to have him marry us. He was a great christian and an awesome woodworker. I remember when he helped me repair some Pew legs that had split for the church..they will last forever the way he fixed them! Our prayers are with all the family.

Hollis, you and your family are in my prayers. Dean was a true soldier for Christ. I remember his service for the Gospel Rescue Mission, and always greeting me at Sun & Shield. Thank you Lord for sending Dean our way. "Well done good and faithful servant."

Our Dearest Hollis,
With heart felt love we send our regrets. Dean was a wonderful friend and brother in Christ who will be greatly missed. Our family was richly blessed by the love that both you and Dean so unselfishly shared as we sought to serve our Lord at Sun & Shield. The visits that you made to see us in North Carolina will always be cherished memories. We love and will be praying for you.

Hollis and family, We are praying for God's comfort and strength for you right now! So good to think of Dean being in heaven. We loved him; we will remember Dean as one of the first to welcome us to Sun and Shield. So many lives were changed because of him and he is a wonderful example of what a life sold out to Christ can do.
Love Always!

Grandpa Dean, you will be forever in my heart. I love you for many reasons, but mostly for just being you. I am proud and honored to be your grand-daughter. I know that you are rejoicing in heaven without pain for for first time. While I envy that, it gives me a great peace to know that I will see you again one day soon. Until then, my heart will go on singing!
