Marilyn Stith Obituary
79, of Bolivar, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, in her own home following a period of declining health. Born June 1, 1937 in Akron, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Mazak) Janickas. She was a homemaker most of her life and was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity. Marilyn was a member of the church prayer chain. Polka dancing at The Polish Club in Canton was something Marilyn loved to do.
She is survived by her five children: Theresa Stith of Bolivar, Joseph (Sandra) Stith of Johnstown, Elizabeth (Richard) Gallo of Clarksville, Tenn., Kathleen Rose of Reynoldsburg, and Keri (Bill) Catte of Canal Winchester; and her eight grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Stith, he passed away April 24, 1991; her son, Gary Stith; and her sister, Susan Cristia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 1835 Dover-Zoar Road N.E., Bolivar, OH 44612, with Fr. Jonathan Kathenge as Celebrant, assisted by Deacon Lyn Houze. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home, 248 Park Avenue S.W., Bolivar, OH 44612. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or easily online at: www.stjude.org. Marilyn and I shared a friendship from our days in grade school. We have kept in touch through the years even when we lived far from each other. I will miss her very much!
