Gladys Stith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Michael J. Grant & Thomas A. Marinello Funeral Homes, Inc. - Coram on Jan. 3, 2026.
Gladys Stith
Gladys was peacefully welcomed into God's kingdom on December 31st 2025 and is now reunited with her husband Thomas in paradise. Gladys was born in Elberton, Georgia on July 14th, 1939. She was one of 5 sisters of the late Leroy and Addie Smith. The family moved to Olean NY. After graduating high school Gladys decided to pursue a career in nursing. During this time Gladys met her college sweetheart, Thomas Stith, whom she married on April 8th, 1961. They moved to NYC and started their family having two daughters Karin and Lisa. Together they provided a home full of love and laughter that was passed along to their two grandchildren Justin and Alana.
Gladys was a cherished grandmother to Justin and Alana who knew her as a source of comfort, wisdom, and unconventional love. They had a special bond and relationship that provided so many great memories of laughter and joy. They were the light of her life.
Gladys was the heart of her family, a devoted and loving wife to Thomas and doting mother to her daughters. Gladys was known for her kindness, warm smile and a strong sense of family. She always puts others first, making sure that the people she loved were taken care of. She taught her children and grandchildren the meaning of faith, kindness, and perseverance. Gladys enjoyed reading, spending time with the family and listening to music.
Gladys believed in the power of prayer and lived her life as an example of Christ's love. Her faith sustained her through every season, and she often reminded us that God is always in control. We take comfort in knowing she now rests in His presence, healed and at peace.
Gladys is survived by her daughters, Karin and Lisa, her grandchildren Justin and Alana, her son in law David, her sister Imanell, brother-in-law Sam and sisters in law Virginia and Sandra along with her nieces, nephews, and friends.
Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice knowing that she is now free, healed and resting in the arms of her Savior. Her love, faith, and gentle spirit will live on forever in those she leaves behind. She will live in our hearts forever.
