Mary S. Helmuth
age 77, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord, the one she loved, on Sunday morning, May 2, 2010 with her husband, Ervin, by her side. She was born in Uniontown, Ohio on Jan. 27, 1933 to the late Mary Ann (Miller) and Henry H. Shrock. She married Ervin Helmuth Aug. 2, 1953. They lived on a farm in Union City, Pa. Mary loved to do crafts, sew, and garden. She entered her produce and crafts at the Spartanburg County Fair, where she won many blue ribbons and grand prizes. She was a member of the Valley View Mennonite Church. Once she and her husband retired they moved to Ohio and became members of the Hartville Mennonite Church. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and everyone looked forward to their 'Grammy Dinners.'
Preceded in death by son, Thomas Eugene in 1977; sister, Emma Beachy and brother, Raymond Shrock. She is survived by her husband, Ervin of 57 years; children, Norma (Michael) Anderson of North Canton, Steven (Joy) Helmuth of Arkansas, Rosemary (Steve) Wolf of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Michael (Desiree) Stoltzfus, Melissa (T.J.) Bankondy, Reggie (Jennette) Stoltzfus, Elizabeth (Josh) Clarke, Tom II (Emily) Helmuth, Katie Helmuth, Rachel (fiancé Travis) Wolf, Steven, Angela and Andrew Wolf; great-grandchildren, Abbegael, Emmeline, Cammilla, Thomas, Mathew, Marshall, Mason, Lillian, Christian, Emma, Micah, Nathaniel, and Benjamin; siblings, Sarah Miller, Martha (Jay) Beachy, Edna (Bill) Wittmer, Melvin ‘Sonny' (Mary Ellen) Shrock, Noah (Dorothy) Shrock, Pastor Henry (Dorothy) Shrock, Erma Beachy; many other relatives and friends.
Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at Hartville Mennonite Church and one hour prior to services Thursday 10-11 a.m. Funeral services are Thursday 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor Ross Miller and Pastor Henry Shrock officiating. Final resting place is the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
