Otis Brooks Obituary

Otis Gene Brooks
passed away on Nov. 19, 2011. He was born on Feb. 9, 1950 to the late J. D. Brooks and Mae Ella Brooks of Canton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonita Brooks; brother, Grover Brooks; niece, Crystal Odom; and nephew, Grover Brooks Jr. Otis was retired from the Conrail Corporation where he worked for well over 25 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Lodge Number Penn 3018. He was an avid lover and player of chess, basketball and football. He will be missed by many family and friends.
Otis is survived by his children, Otisia Brooks, Shawn (Crystal) Blackford, Derrick (Andrea) Blackford, Donita Pugh and James (Donna) Pugh; special daughter, who he helped raise, Bobbi Barbosa; grandchildren, Jay'Mier and Ja'Miyah Poole and other special grandchildren; sisters, Nellie Odom, Princeola (Lovie) Smith, Lula Smallwood, Brothers, Gary Brooks, Ernest (Karolin) Brooks, both of Milwaukee, Wis., Joseph (Antonia) Brooks, Gerald Brooks, and a special friend, Dina Kindall and a host of other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 6 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Calling hours one hour prior from 5-6 p.m. in the funeral home.
