Patricia Define Obituary

Patricia Kay Define
Patricia Kay Define, age 54, of Massillon passed away Monday evening with her family at her side. She was born in Canton on October 5, 1952 to William Wayne Penick and Gilda Louise (Thompson) Penick. Patty was a 1970 graduate of Lehman High School. In 1971 Patty married her devoted and loving husband, Gary with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. Patty took great pride and joy raising her two children. Wanting a career, she went to Stark Technical College and graduated with honors as a physical therapist assistant. Patty began her career at Doctors Hospital and continued to work as a PT assistant devoting 20 years of her life to helping people. She especially enjoyed her time working with disabled children through the Stark County Board of Education. Driven by a passion for politics and a desire to impact others, she accepted a position at the Stark County Board of Elections and until her passing was the supervisor of bookkeeping. Patty had a real zest for life, and loved her family and friends. She cherished her time with her grandchildren. Her pastimes included golf, family outings and a love for riding horses. Patty was preceded in death by her father; brother, Ronald; stepfather, Thomas Willison; and father-in-law, Vincent Define. Survived by husband, Gary Define; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kari Define II; daughter, Meshawn Miller; mother, Gilda Willison and fiancée, Tom Elliott of Mt. Eaton; sister and brother-in-
law, Tammy and Michael Adkins; grandchildren, Jossalyn and Gary Define III; nieces and nephews, Patricia (Adkins) Rudd and fiancée, Patrick Pileggi of Bolivar, Michael Shane Adkins, Nicholas Strickling, Rhonda Strickling; mother-in-law, Phyllis Define of Navarre; sister-in-law, Linda Define of Canton; grandniece and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Clements Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The procession to Calvary Cemetery will form at St. Clements Church. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association or Pegasus Farm Equestrian Center for the disabled.

Dear Gary and Family,
I met all of you at such a difficult and traumatic time in your lives, and I must say that Patti and her family are truely one of the kindest people I have ever met. The love your family has for one another is remarkably strong, this surely made Patti smile and fight, she loved and talked highly of her family members, especially her grandchildren.I was Patti's nurse for a good part of the time she was in the hospital, she made me remember why I enjoyed being a nurse, she was great, always listening to my stories as well as hers. A true fighter in every sense of the word. I am sure that Patti will only help you all to heal in the way that her love will be with you forever and she will make you smile at times when you think that would be impossible. I am grateful and blessed that I was able to meet such a wonderful family, my thoughts and prayers will be with both you and Patti.
God Bless you all,

Adriene Kubic RN Aultman hospital

Dear Gary and Family,

I graduated from Lehman High School ('70) with Patty and remember a sweet girl, always friendly and always fun to be with. While the years have passed, and we lost touch, she apparently remained the same as I remember. What a wonderful wife and mother she became...no surprise. I mourn with you and will always cherish her memory of so many years ago. God bless you and may He strengthen you in this time of sadness.
