Paul Esber Obituary

Paul S. Esber
age 68 of Canton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Canton, Ohio on April 21, 1943, he was the son of the late David and Helen Esber. He was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church and the Pan Cretan National Association. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1961 and attended Kent State University and Business College in Washington, DC. Paul worked for over 40 years in the family business–Esber Beverage Company–until his retirement.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Eleni K. (Hatzakis) Esber of the home; his sisters, Corinne Mahshie of Akron and Dr. Elaine Esber (Elias) of Washington, DC; and brothers, David Esber, ESQ of Akron and Gary Esber of Canton. Paul was godfather to Rene Hatzakis of Crete, Savas Skouloudi, of Meseleri, Crete and Athena Isabelle Rus of Port Saint Lucie, Fla. He will be greatly missed by his many family members, his nieces and nephews and other godchildren, friends and his best friend the Yorkie, Shakespeare.
Calling hours will be at Rossi Funeral Home, Monday, May 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Trisagion Services at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, May 10, viewing will be at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church at 9 a.m. followed by services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow the burial at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Renovation Fund at St. Haralambos Church and the Building Fund of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333.
