Ray was one of my dearest friends. Words cannot describe the sadness in my heart at losing one of the most unique individuals I have ever encountered. At times an enigma, Ray made every day, every minute spent with him entertaining and interesting. I lost more than just a friend in Ray, I lost a part of my heart. He would probably laugh reading this, his typical sly chuckle, and I will sorely miss sharing laughs with him.
Rest easy my friend.

Our family went to Hartville today to get some pepperoni rolls, and we were told of the news. We didn't really know you but our family will miss seeing you and your friendly smile. So so sorry to Ray's family and friends. You will be missed by more than you know.

Even though I only knew Ray for a few month, in that time I saw him grow in his curiosity about the bible and the Lord. He enjoyed coming to our church and singing and learning about the bible and Jesus! I pray his is singing with the Lord today!

I can't say that I was super close to Ray, having met him through pinball league . But he was kind enough to invite me to his house a few times to play pinball and hang out. I always appreciated his cool attitude and his entrepreneurial drive to carve out his own path in life. I can only aspire to have that same attitude.

You'll be missed Ray. My thoughts are with his family & friends.

I am so sadden and sorry for the loss of Ray. I am a vendor that worked along side him for the past 6 years. Ray was such a nice man always had a smile on his face and loved the people at the marketplace. He thought of his girls there as family and loved to talk with other vendors. He would always stop by my booth to ask how I was and to push my buttons on topics he knew were not my favorite things to talk about but that was one of the things I loved about him, he knew how to make you engage. I spoke with him on Thursday and will never forget his smile as I chuckled with him about how he wanted his picture taken for the marketplace website. He truly was one of a kind and the market will never be the same without him. My prayers for his family, workers and close friends.

Ray, you were a blessing, a gift from God. Your passion for conversation, people, and entrepreneurial endeavors left a lasting impression on those who knew you. Your eyes and smile revealed your kind heart, and your laugh and expressive story telling left lasting memories. You loved and cared deeply for the people in your life. You were a lovable character who took notice of others, listened carefully, said what you felt and thought taking an interested the people in your life, giving to others, wanting to make a difference in the lives of those around you. You were one of a kind, a rare gem, irreplaceable. God worked through you and now you're with Him, loved by Him. It was an honor and a blessing to have you attending church and bible study with me; talking to you every day either on the phone or in person over the last few months of your life. Listening to your hopes, your dreams, your endeavors, your day to day experiences, your worries and your joy. God brought you into my life for a short time, and during that time, you left a lasting impression, embraced my friends, my church family and grew in your relationship with Christ. I will miss you sitting by my side at Church and in bible study and am comforted that you are with God now, in a better place.
