Robert Leach Obituary

Robert P. Leach

Age 73, passed away on December 22 due to complications with Covid-19. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1965 and The Ohio State University in 1969. He married the love of his life in 1969 and was married to Nancy for over 50 years. He was lucky to discover his passion for building and developing early in his life and loved going to work every day. He founded Hawthorne Builders and later Regal Construction where he designed and built hundreds of homes and developed several communities in the Stark County area. He worked hard, but he played hard too. He sailed the Caribbean and the Greek Islands, skied the Rockies, rode a Harley to Sturgis, climbed the Great Wall of China, safaried in Africa, downed vodka in Russia, and sipped wine in Argentina.

His most cherished times were spent on the DreamBuilder on Lake Erie with his family and friends.

He was a beloved husband, dad, brother, father-in-law, Poppop, uncle, and mentor. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Leach and Elaine Paul;, brother, Timothy Leach; and sister, Irene Heinrich. Captain Bob will be sorely missed by his wife, Nancy (Stockburger) Leach; children, Heather (Kent) Pflederer, Andrew (Melissa) Leach, Liana (Jeremy) Lake; grandchildren, Robbie, Kevin, Morgan, Finley, Jake, Oliver; brothers, Dave (Pam) of Raleigh and Rick (Laurie) of Hilton Head; brother-in-law, Craig Heinrich; and so many others, including his doodle, Josie.

Services will be private with a celebration of life later. In lieu of flowers, please support a small business or local charity in Bob's memory. Special thanks to the front-line workers on the 4th floor at Aultman. Messages of support and sympathy can be made at www.paquelet.com

Dear Nancy and Andy,

Your husband/father was a wonderful man. I recall all of the wonderful things that he did for the Cub Scouts, long ago. Such a giving soul.

Sympathies to all of the family, Scott Papas

Please accept my sincerest condolences. I met Bob a long time ago at SCHBA. Later he became one of my favorite clients (at Lana Lake Advertising) and a friend. He was always very pleasant, kind and great to work with. May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal.

I’m so sad to hear this. I have so many good memories of growing up with your family and I loved running into you guys later in life both in the Caribbean, and up at the Lake. Every time we would see you Bob always had a huge smile on his face happy to be on the water with his family. He was taken too soon and my heart hurts for all of you.

Dear Nancy and Family,
Our sincere condolences go to you all, and God Bless you.
We have so many fond and wonderful memories of doing things with Bob and his Family.
The trips to Myrtle Beach, Atwood Lake, on the water at Lake Cable, the Buffalo Dinners, the Pig Roast and the Blessing on the Pig the night before, the many trips to see the Buckeyes in Columbus, and I could go on and on, each and every memory brings smiles and our dear friend Bob.
I used to tell Bob in the contest for the man with the most toys, he was the winner hands down, and he would just smile .
Bob was the best of best, and we were fortunate to have know him and loved him.
May he rest in peace with God's Blessings.
