Libertin
Ruth Monica Libertin, age 81, of Liberty Township, died on Friday, July 11, at her residence. She was the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Fekety) Hiznay, and was born on January 14, 1927, in Youngstown. Ruth graduated from Wilson High School in 1945, and she attended Youngstown Business College. She worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube from 1945-1949. In 1996 she retired from the State of Ohio Bureau of Employment after 28 years of service. Ruth was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell, Ohio, where she was active in the Campbell "O" Club, the Alter Society, and other outreach organizations. An avid OSU and YSU fan, she also enjoyed dancing, swimming, listening to music, crocheting and traveling. She is survived by her husband, George, whom she married in 1949; her three daughters, Monica (Nicholas) Vansuch of Howland, Mary Libertin, Ph.D. of Carlisle, PA, Claudia Ruth Libertin, M.D. of New Haven, CT; and a son, Andrew George (Cheryl) Libertin, M.D. of North Canton; her sisters, Florence (Merle) Shilling of Hubbard and Stella (Howard) Craft of Hubbard; and three grandchildren, Matthew (Deena DeVico) Vansuch of Howland, Sarah (Josh) Wilson of Covington, KY, and Rachel Elise Libertin of North Canton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome and Cyril, and sister Dorothy. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15 at the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church Perpetual Memorial Fund, 301 Struthers Liberty Road, Campbell, Ohio, 44405. Funeral services were entrusted to The Wasko Funeral Home, Campbell, OH.
