Sarah Gliatta Obituary

Sarah S. Gliatta
age 91 of Canton passed away Saturday morning at her home after an extended illness. Sarah was born in Canton on Feb. 17, 1922 to the late Nicola and Angelina (Menna) Norcia. She was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish. The Miraculous Medal Sodality of the the Church. A graduate of McKinley High School. Sarah enjoyed bowling and golfing for many years with her family and friends and was very proud of her hole in one she made at Edgewood Golf course the day her grandson Nick was born.
In addition to her parents Sarah was preceded in death by three brothers Joe, Leonard and Mike Norcia; and two sisters Rose Pentella and Mary DiCiccio. She is survived by her husband Nick, they would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on Nov. 16, 2013. Four daughters and sons in law Carol and Hank Depner, Nancy and Jim Elseser, Barb and Bill Vennetti and Debbie and Tony Chagaros; and three sons and daughters-in-law Bart and Cindy, Nick and Regina, and Jim and Kathy; one sister Virginia Cochran. Sarah was also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday morning at St. Anthony / All Saints one hour before the mass at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr Tom Bishop as Celebrant Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Anthony/ All Saints in Sarah's memory.

I will miss you grandma! I'll always cherish our coffee dates sitting at the kitchen table talking about God and the bible. Those were special times (even though the coffee was instant). Thanks for loving God and loving your family as well as you did. I wish you could have lived longer, but you're in a better place now. Rest in Peace dear grandmother.
