Shannon Fletcher Obituary
passed away unexpectedly Nov. 24, 2013. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a graduate of McKinley Senior High School and had attended Tiffin University and Arizona State University. He served in the Army National Guard where he faithfully served his country. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Fletcher and grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, son, Jamie Perry; mother, Betty Fletcher; brother, Stephon Fletcher; many cousins, beloved aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Cathedral of Life Church, 4111 38th St. NW, Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at Rhoden Memorial Home, 729 Cherry Ave. NE and again from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 2530 Winton Place NW.

So glad I was able to know you and spend some time together, even if it was just for a short while. I went to McKinley with Shannon, and always loved his smiling presence. After college I got to know him more, and always enjoyed our deep conversations. Both our parents passed away around the same time, and he was able to completely relate to me. I knew of the un-dying love he had for his father and his family, I only wish I was able to keep in touch with him more as I have not hung out with him in well over a year. My sincere condolences to Shannon's family and all who knew him. R.I.P dear friend.

Met Shannon while at Harter Middle School. We went through training to be peer mediators together, noted for our ways of bringing people together. I left CHAP right after 7th grade, but then ran into him randomly at a UC Orientation some 10 years later, and he was still the same, friendly face. He didn't miss a beat. But from what I could tell, he was a very positive, sweet-minded kid who would never harm a flee. I'm sorry to hear that he is gone, and thank him for his service to this nation. I met Shannon in high school. He gave me perhaps the best advice I've ever received.
I walked into the classroom frowning. He stopped me and asked why I wasn't smiling. I told him I didn't have anything to smile about.
Shannon asked me, "Do your shoes fit?" I told him they did. He said, "Then smile about that!"
When I'm feeling down, sometimes I smile at the fact that my shoes fit.
That was my first conversation with him, 12 years ago, and I will never forget it.
