Stephan A. "Steve" Stano

68, of Massillon, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family, late Wednesday evening, August 4, 2021. Born in Massillon, July 13, 1953, a son to the late George and Mary (Ryan) Stano, Steve graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1971. He had a successful career in the flooring industry for many years and worked incredibly hard for his family. He enjoyed playing golf, prime rib dinners, and foremost, spending quality time with his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Melanie Ann (Doney) Stano; Steve is survived by his sons, Nicholas Stano and Justin Stano (and Amanda Ludwick); daughter, Taylor Stano (and Brendon Bland) and granddaughter, Allison Stano, all of the area; and his sister, Vicki Stano Kidd (and Bruce Rearick), of Greensboro, N.C. Also surviving are his nieces, Kristine (Bill) Soper and Traci (Mark) Quate; great-niece and -nephew, Mary and Michael Soper; brother-in-law, Joshua (Jennifer) Doney; nephew Ethan and nieces, Quinlyn and Jocelyn Doney; and sister-in-law, Jayne Doney.

A memorial celebration of Steve's life will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Galen Oakes II will officiate. The family will receive condolences prior to the service on Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. They also extend a special thanks to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center for their care and support.
