Dear Pergins Family,
I am so sorry about Mr. Pergins, and I can't even imagine how you're feeling at this incredibly sad time. But as I told Cathi, I'm proud of all of you and how you are such a close family. You were there for him, physically and emotionally and I know that meant everything to him. All of you were his health advocates, helping him as much as you could, through his tough times. Please take comfort knowing you were at his side.
I realized today that I've known Cathi, then Ruthie, since she was about 16 or 17 years old. That's 26 years that we've been friends, more like sisters, and we've been through a lot, even with miles in between us. That's a great friendship! Thank you, Cathi.
And Mrs. Pergins, please know I'm thinking about you at this time. Pete and Jimmy, my thoughts are also with you.
I'm glad I knew him. When I'd call your house and he would pick up, he was never really sure just who I was! Then I'd say, you know, Cathi's friend in Arizona! Then he'd say, oh ya, how's the weather out there!!! And I'd say, it's beautiful and sunny. And he'd say, how hot is it? And I'd proceed to either complain about the temperature (if it was scorching) or just say it was perfect! That was our conversation. Every time! But, it suited both of us just fine. He always got to the point! Must have been the accountant in him!
I'll close for now. Thank you all for being so nice to me when I'm in Ohio. Again, I'm thinking of you.
Love,
Joy
