He spent 18 months aboard LST 785 which included invasions on Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Saipan and the Philippines. His lifelong passion was serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tom was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church, serving as youth leader, Sunday school leader, deacon and most joyfully as the lay congregational song leader for 20 years. His Christian mission work included lay minister leader for the Stark County Jail Church Service and loyal visitor to homebound residents; always sharing encouragement of praise and prayer.

Tommy was one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. God truly blessed me when he brought Tommy into my life. I often looked forward to hearing him sign me a hymn or share a wonderful story with me. He once told me he looked forward to walking with me on the golden streets of heaven. I know that is where he is and one day I look forward to taking that walk with him.

Connie & Joyce,
Just wanted to express my condolences to you and your families on the homegoing of your father Tom. He was a true and good Christian Man, who finally has moved into the house he has longed for, trusting and serving God. May the lord keep you in your time of sorrow and give you assurance that you will be with Tom again.
