Vera Boyd Obituary
Vera Boyd, 91, of Minerva, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Great Trail Care Center. Vera was born in East Liverpool, OH, on March 14, 1916, the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Shannon) Lyons. She was a member of First Christian Church of Minerva, was a homemaker and had worked as a bank custodian at Bank Ohio in Negley. She was a member of AARP and the Alpha Rho Sunday School Class. Vera is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Charles) Lumley of Minerva; a son, Dean (Nancy) Boyd of E. Palestine; a sister, Ila Hart of Columbus; three brothers, Frank Lyons of East Liverpool, Dean Lyons of Baltimore, MD and Dale Lyons of Manhattan, KA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Boyd in 1989, son, Gary and sister, Ruth Haas. Funeral services will be held at Negley Methodist Church, Negley, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11th, with Pastor Ronald Boyd officiating. Friends are invited to call Monday 4-7 p.m. at the Bartley Funeral Home, Minerva and one hour before services at Negley Methodist Church. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Garden. Beverly and Dean and families,
We are sorry to hear of Vera's death. She is truly one of the nicest persons I have ever known. As a child Vera and Dave were people I looked up to very much. I always remember good times when our families got together, fishing, skating, playing on the hill behind your house, whatever, were some of the best times of childhood.
The world changes but those good times live with us forever.
I am sure Vera and Dave will be with the Lord in heaven.
