William Davis Obituary

William P. Davis
Age 70, of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Canton he was the son of the late William H. and Marguerite M. (Klein) Davis. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School class of 1959, Walsh College class of 1965 and was a certified public accountant owning Feller & Davis Accounting Agency and working at Cornerstone Capital Advisors, Akron and Donovan Klimazek Accountants, Fairlawn. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Walsh Alumni Association, St. Joseph Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, where he was currently serving as president, American Legion Canton Post #44, where he was currently serving as treasurer, the WM. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum committee and the Vassar Neighborhood Association. His past memberships include the committee to renovate Fawcett Stadium and the St. Peter's Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosemary A. (Orkwiszewski) Davis of the home; son, Christopher W.H. (Kristina Pochedly) Davis; daughters, Stephanie M. (Andy) Sullivan, Heather A. (Antonino) Pansera all of Canton; brother, Timothy J. (Debbie) Davis of Manitou Springs, Colo.; sisters, Julie D. Dannemiller of Canton, Mary S. (Norm) Riley of Bay Village, Ohio; brother-in- law, Emil Popa of North Canton; sister-in-law, Victoria (Charles) DeGraff of North Canton; grandchildren, Lauren Sullivan, Anthony Sullivan, Antonino 'Nino' Pansera, Santo 'Sammy' Panera and several nieces and nephews including his godchild, Clare. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Clementine Popa and nephew, Timothy DeGraff.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. John Sheridan as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. Donations may be made to American Legion Canton Post #44.
