Alfred Trifiro Obituary

Alfred Joseph Trifiro was born in Somerville, MA on December 23, 1929, to the late Joseph and Rose Trifiro and died on March 23, 2023 in the loving company of his wife, Anne Pennucci Trifiro, with whom he had been married for 61 years, and daughters Nancy (Stephen Troese), Cory (Philip Kuhn), and Michele (John Beavers). He was a Catholic man of the utmost integrity, took the best care of his family, and recognized the value of continuing education throughout a lifetime. He was an incredible example of living the American dream. As the second son and middle child of two Italian immigrants, he graduated from a vocational high school and enlisted in the US Air Force. He was subsequently commissioned as an officer and served as a Navigation Officer in several assignments during the Korean War including service with the 54th Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron where he flew typhoon hunter missions aboard WB-29s out of Anderson Air Force Base in Guam. After leaving active duty, he remained in the US Air Force Reserve where he eventually retired with the rank of Major. Then, utilizing the GI Bill, he attended Boston University earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He became a bank examiner in Massachusetts, and then moved his family to the DC area where he worked for and retired from the Securities and Exchange Commission as a financial analyst. In his late 50s and after retiring, he graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Business and Management from the University of Maryland at College Park and later took courses studying law for fun. A love for surf fishing, crabbing, boating, and gardening kept him busy. Alfred is survived by his wife, daughters, eight grandchildren: Dominic Troese of Annapolis, MD, Sarina Troese, Michael Troese, and Victor Troese of Pompano Beach, FL, Quinci Cuthbert of Richmond, VA, Kelley Cuthbert of Alexandria, VA, Gabriela Beavers of New York, NY, Michaela Beavers of Boston, MA, and nephew, Richard Caraviello (Carol) of Medford, MA. He was a compassionate, loving, and fiercely independent man who will be greatly missed. An interment at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA is being planned. Final care has been entrusted to: Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
