Ann Cacciatore Obituary



Ann M. Cacciatore, a 25-year resident of Annapolis died August 11 at University of Maryland Hospital. Born January 7, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Worked for John Hancock Insurance before relocating to Washington, DC with her new husband, Joe, in 1952. Ann worked as a civilian for the U.S. Air Force at Andrews AFB prior to starting a long career as the Executive Officer in the Office of the General Counsel for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the Queens Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Annapolis, and the Annapolis Lodge of the Sons of Italy. Ann was predeceased in 2013 by her loving husband of 60 years, Joe Cacciatore, and by two of her sisters, Eileen Burns and Sarah McCray. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Peter) Novak of Philadelphia, Mary Kay (Steven) DeGeorge of Annapolis, and Paul (Ann Lee) Cacciatore of Manhattan Beach, CA. a sister, Doreen Stabile, of Bayonne, NJ, and eight grandchildren: Ann Marie, Michael and Kate Novak, and Nina, Nick, Lauren, Anna and Meghan DeGeorge. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 17 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:30 am Tuesday, August 18 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd, Annapolis. Burial at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, 3900 13th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20017. An online guestbook is available at www.kalasfuneralhomes.com

I extend my condolences to Ann's family and friends. Ann was one of the angels that God put in my life (back in the 1960s). She made a big difference in my life through her mentoring and friendship at FAA. That was a long time ago but we kept in touch with Christmas cards over the years. A wonderful woman.
