Belinda Taylor Obituary

Belinda Saunders Taylor ("Lindy") passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born on October 3, 1953, in Washington, D.C., Lindy spent most of her childhood in Davidsonville, Maryland. She graduated from Southern High School in Lothian, MD, and later earned her Associate's degree from Anne Arundel Community College. After marrying her husband Bert, Lindy lived in Mayo, MD for 35 years, where she was an active member of Mayo United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years. Her career included various roles within the Anne Arundel County school system, as well as custom framing work at The Frame Shoppe in Annapolis. In 2008, Lindy and Bert moved to Clayton, NC, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Lindy's passions included photography, sewing, and gardening. She created custom handmade quilts, which she sold through her website and gifted to family and friends. Within her family, her legendary sewing skills often rescued beloved pieces of clothing. Her love of nature and animals was evident in her photography-especially her fondness for turtles, which she frequently photographed and, when injured, lovingly nursed back to health before releasing. She found joy in visiting nature parks, walking on beaches, collecting shells, and exploring mountains and waterfalls. Her gentle spirit was reflected in her love for growing things, especially banana trees. Lindy's legacy of creativity and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Bert, her three children: Jay Taylor, Jenny Barnes, and Bonnie Taylor, and her five cherished grandchildren: Nicholas, Avery, Brody, Barrett, and Autumn. Also surviving are her beloved mother, Elizabeth Saunders of Hertford, NC, and her sisters: Kathy Paine, Diane Windell, Patricia Bircher, and Christy Kaufmann. Final arrangements are still being developed but will include a service of remembrance and interment at Mayo United Methodist Church Cemetery.
