Christopher Drummond

It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Christopher F. Drummond of Queenstown, MD, announces his passing on March 16, 2024, due to a heart attack while doing something he loved - cycling. Chris was born in London, England, on July 21, 1954, to the late Anthony Drummond and the late Dorothy Drummond Parker. He immigrated with his parents in 1955. He graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 1976 and the University of Maryland School of Law in 1980 with honors. He passed the bar exam and was admitted to legal practice in 1980. He was an associate at an Annapolis law firm before he opened his practice in 1983 in Centreville, MD. He represented a broad range of individual, corporate, and local government clients. He was a loving and caring father who offered support and steady guidance to achieve their goals. He and his wife Cindy were true partners as they navigated tough times and celebrated the good times throughout their marriage. Also as a dedicated husband of 35 years, he would do anything for Cindy from building her a "she shed" to championing her in the pursuit of achieving her master's degree. Chris is survived by his wife Cindy and his children: Ian (Shannon) of Copenhagen, Denmark; and Mallory (Benen) of Falls Church, VA. His siblings also survive him: Susan Vianna of Chester, MD; Colin Drummond (Kathleen) of Maple Glen, PA; Alison Wilson (Craig) of Charlottesville, VA; and his brother-in-law Charlie Mead, Chester, MD. He is also survived by his father-in-law James E. "Ed" Wignall (Sandy); his sisters-in-law Joanne Bullock (Donald) of Harrington, DE, and Bonnie Jackson (Gary) of Stevensville, MD; and his brothers-in-law Robert Ridgeway (Kristin) of Marco Island, FL, and Donald Tasker III of Cocoa, FL. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Katherine, his parents, his sister Barbara Mead, and his sister-in-law Janet Wignall. A memorial service will be held on March 27, 2024, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Chester, MD, at 10:00 am. A private burial will be held immediately after the service.
