Dean Armstrong Obituary

Dean Armstrong died on November 13, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He was 77. Dean was born July 21, 1945, in Peoria, Illinois, son of Norma and Bill. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dean believed that "having a college degree is more important than money." After a short run as a public-school teacher in the late-sixties, he earned a master's degree at Michigan State University, which led to a long career in urban planning. His hobbies included fishing, photography, jazz music and, above all, reading, especially paperback mysteries. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. Dean is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mimi; a daughter, Jane Hudiburg (Jay), a son, Stephen (Katie), and granddaughters Sophie, Jackie and Charlotte; a sister, Lee, and a brother, Bruce. A memorial service will be held in Dean's honor at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD with interment to follow at Epiphany Episcopal Church Cemetery. Donations can be made in his name to World Central Kitchen.

Mimi and family. Don't ask ne why, but I thought of you 2 today and decided to Google you to see if you were still in Maryland. I was saddened to discover that Dean died in mid- November. I know how hard it is to lose one's life partner. I hope you are doing as well as can be expected. It's a challenge. I hope you are managing ok, Mimi, and holding close all the wonderful years you were together. I remember Dean as a very nice and interesting fellow. Take care of yourself. I'm reachable at [email protected].. I'm still in No VA just off of 495. Blessings on all of you. Susan Hall McCannell
