Donald Judge Obituary

Donald ("Don") Richard Judge, 100, born November 14, 1921 in Elmira, N.Y., died in West Caldwell, N.J. on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Don served during World War II and beyond, enlisting in 1940 with the U.S. Army Air Corps, which later became the U.S. Air Force. His earliest assignment was as a courier for vital code-breaking machines, and he later met his future wife Doreen while stationed in England. Life in the military took Don and his family to Germany and Japan, as well as numerous bases in the U.S. After retiring as a major in 1961, he launched a second career with the National Security Agency, and later became a travel agent. He and his wife lived in the Annapolis area for more than 50 years. Surviving are his daughters Kathleen (David) Blacklock of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; Julie Anne (Anthony) Pagnotta of Little Falls, N.J.; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents John W. and Ruth (Roberts) Judge, siblings Walter, Betty, and Dorothy; his wife of 69 years, Doreen Mason; daughter Janet Howard; daughter Annette (Michael) Patnode of Millersville, Md. A private family gathering will be held in Annapolis in November; inurnment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md. In lieu of flowers, donations in his and his wife's names are suggested to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
