Elizabeth "Betty" Eger

1928 - 2022

Elizabeth "Betty" Eger, 94, a resident of Annapolis, MD for thirty years and previously of Silver Spring, MD died on Friday, September 30 at Ginger Cove Assisted Living. Born on September 18, 1928 in Lynn, MA, Betty enjoyed a lengthy career with the US Geological Survey and the Department of Health and Human Services. She was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church and was very active with the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, where she was a past president. Betty enjoyed volunteering and being a mother and grandmother. She was the beloved mother of Michael, John and Chuck Eger, Kendra Clemens, Marie Johnson and the late Deborah Shepard; grandmother of Scott and Brendon Shepard, Sam, Meredith and Amelia Clemens, Sarah and Kate Eger, Finn and Erin Eger, and T.J. and Taylor Johnson; great grandmother of Brooke and Blake Shepard and sister of Patricia McNamara. Friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Thursday, October 6 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD on Friday, October 7 at 10:30 am. Interment will take place in Arlington, MA.
