Gary Siegert Obituary

SIEGERT, GARY Failed in body but never in Spirit, Gary Allen Siegert returned peacefully to Heaven on June 3rd, 2014 following a 3 year fight with cancer. Gary was born on February 16th, 1953 in Annapolis, Maryland. He was born with the salt water of the Weems Creek in his blood and he carried a love for the sea his life through. He graduated from Annapolis High School earning a nickname for his speed and hustle that would last a lifetime: Squirrel. Gary lived for his family. He worked tirelessly to see his family had the best of everything. He loved to golf. There wasn't a sunny Sunday afternoon where you wouldn't find him on smashing the fairway or setting up the perfect putt. In recent years, Gary found a love for the mountains and began a quest to purchase the ultimate piece to property. He found that piece of heaven in September 2013 and was blessed with several months of good health to work his "land" and renovate his cabin. He truly created the peaceful escape he'd always wanted. Gary lived for the moment. He lived for the joy of a good meal, a great laugh, time with friends, and the love of his family. The world is a sadder place without him one can only imagine Heaven is exponentially more joyful with his abundant spirit and jubilant soul. Wherever Gary was, the party followed. Gary is survived by his ex-wife and best friend Rona Siegert. One Son: Bryan, 36 and his wife Kara of Fruitland, Maryland and three daughters: Erin, 32, Sarah, 28, and Ali, 25 and their respective husbands Jack, Ryan, and Jeremy all of Meridian, Idaho. His legacy is carried on by nine beautiful grandchildren: Brody, Ava, Maddeck, Alyssa, Estelle, Griffin, Zoe, Zane, and Natalie. He left behind a beloved brother, Jay Siegert of Annapolis, Maryland as well as two very dear cousins Linda Nutt and Susan Sanchez. His precious Yorkie pup, Gizzy, survives him as well. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, John and Marion Siegert of Annapolis, Maryland.
