Andrea,
Sorry this is so late. Just came across the obituary on the internet. We met in the summer of 1967 when we double dated once while Gene was still in the Navy at NSA and I had just begun working there. We went to a Greek restaurant in Baltimore. Gene and I resumed contact after many years when he began researching the Carlson family history. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Dear Mr. Henry Carlson family, please accept our warmest sympathies and be comforted knowing God is "near to those that are broken at heart and those who are crushed in spirit he saves" (Psalm 34:18). He can give us power beyond what is normal to go on from one day to the next (2 Corin. 4:7).

Dearest Friends,
We will surely miss Gene and the manner in which he lived his life. He was a kind and gently soul who left a caring impression on everyone whom he touched. May you find comfort in knowing that he rests in eternal peace.
Love,
