Joan Jordan

Joan R. Jordan, 80, a resident of Arnold, died September 18 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. She was born October 7, 1932 in Johnstown, PA and married her husband, William Jordan in 1950. She came to Brooklyn Park where she and her husband lived for two years before moving to Arnold, where she lived in the same house for 60 years. Joan was an Administrative Assistant at Westinghouse for over 25 years. She worked as a Supply Clerk and Data Entry at the USNA Midshipmen Store since 1989. She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time at her granddaughter's restaurant, Zandi's Grill in Millersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jordan in 2005; son, Ricky A. Jordan; brother, Willard Virgin; and two sisters, Vera Himes, and Elva Noel. She is survived by her son, William Joseph Jordan of Arnold; two daughters, Sandra Lee Painter of Arnold and Sharon Jordan Grier of Ellicott City; 15 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 20, at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, where a Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 21. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn Park.
