John Hopkins Obituary
John Robert "Bob" Hopkins, age 81, a 54 year resident of Annapolis, died on May 8, 2017 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes. Bob was born in Baltimore on June 14, 1935, graduated from Annapolis High School and the University of Maryland and worked for NSA from 1959 to 1993. He served his country as a LT JG in the Coast Guard and attended Officers Candidate School before being honorably discharged in 1959. A member of the Fleet Reserve and Annapolis Yacht Club, Bob enjoyed gardening, sailing, Sudoku puzzles, traveling, river boat cruises and spending winters in Naples, FL. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arline Kathryn Hopkins, and he was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Hopkins. Services and interment will be private.
