Joyce Glossner

Joyce A. Glossner, a lifetime resident of Severn, died peacefully January 17. Born February 24, 1933 in Baltimore, to Elbert H. and Margaret J. Clark (nee Boyer). She worked as a receptionist for the Maritime Institute in Linthicum in earlier days. A lifetime member, she was very active in her church, Severn United Methodist Church, as well as being a member of the MD Genealogical Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed flowers, cooking, and travel, She especiall enjoyed her family and their yearly vacations in Ocean City. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John L. Glossner Jr. of Severn; sons, Duane C. Glossner of Linthicum, Jon S. Glossner of Pasadena; and daughter, Cheryl L. Burgoon of Linthicum. Additionally, she is survived by sisters, Nancy Adler of Chevy Chase and Barbara Schenck of Clinton, AK; grandchildren, John M. Burgoon V, Shannon L. Mize, Jon S. Glossner Jr. and Jeffrey S. Glossner; and well as great-grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Cameron, Caleb and Jordyn Mize. Friends and family gathered to celebrate her life at the Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home on Monday January 20.
