Katherine DeVivo Obituary

Katherine DeVivo, 64, died at Gilchrist Hospice after a long illness. Born October 15, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Elenor and Charles Barbour. Ms. DeVivo lived in Maryland her entire life. After graduating from Church Home Hospital as an R.N., she had a long and varied career in health care until her retirement. Other interests included gardening, photography, crafting, needlepoint and hiking. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, at Granite Baptist Church, Glen Burnie. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to: Gilchrist Hospice, 555 Towsontown Blvd.,Towson, MD 21204; or, Granite Baptist Church, 7823 Oakwood Rd., Glen Burnie, MD. 21061.

Kathy oriented me when I first joined Sunrise Senior Living of Annapolis and I will never forget her. She was a person that was extremely organized, knowledgeable, sometimes demanding, a very strong, passionate woman who did everything "by the book" and I will never forget her! She deserves a peaceful rest for her weary but forever fighting soul!
