Keith Curry Obituary

Dr. Keith Russell "The Modifier" Curry, 63, of Washington, DC died on January 24, 2022. Born on August 11, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri, Keith was the man you went to for help with all tasks big and small. If something needed to be repaired or built, Keith either had the tool for it, or modified a tool to get it done. He earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Hofstra University in 1988. He had a long and productive career serving as a forensic expert witness in 51 civil rights cases. Additionally, he had a 30+ year private practice where he helped hundreds of patients to grow emotionally, intellectually, individually and within their relationships. A long time vegan and animal lover, he was often known as the "cat whisperer." He was kind, generous, loving, intelligent, passionate and the best person a partner, friend, neighbor, patient or animal could want. He is survived by his partner J'aime Nowell (Annapolis, MD), mother Jean Curry (Minneapolis, MN), sister and brother-in law Carol and Randy Hagar (Minneapolis, MN) and brother and sister-in-law Ken and Lana Curry (Mountain Home, AK). In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Capital Caring Health Resource Development, 3180 Fairview Park Dr., Headquarters/Suite 600, Falls Church, VA 22042.

I was Dr.Curry´s patient from
2006 until his retirement. I´m so
sorry to find out he has died.
We were not friends, but so much of what was in the obituary lined up with I surmised
about what kind of person he was during our sessions.
I am a retired teacher and I learned so much from our work together.I continue to process the lessons he shared with me.
I expect I always will.What a gift!
You have my deepest condolences.Dr.Curry will always have my heartfelt gratitude.

Just learned of my lifelong friend´s death today. I´m heartbroken. We were still in touch. Visited him in DC whenever I was in town. Lost touch over the more recent years. I send my condolences to my childhood friends Carol and Ken. And Bethany. Call me. 713-385-6386. Melissa let me know in a mailed package to my work. But have been working from home since Covid. Just happened on Melissa´s package yesterday. Condolences to the family Carol and Ken. Jan Blalock
