Louis Titus Blunt, Sr., a resident of Churchton, died July 1, at the age of 105. He was born October 18, 1904, in Churchton, to the late Lydia A. Coates and Louis T. Blunt. Louis married the late Marie R. Gray in 1925.
He was em ployed with Rebeano Construction for 36 years. He was a waterman for 15 years and was with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education for 15 years.
Louis was a faithful member of the Franklin United Methodist Church. He served on the Board of Ushers, Board of Trustees, Male Chorus, and Board of Stewardship.
He was an avid fan of WWE Smackdown and the Washington Redskins. He also enjoyed watching other sports, especially baseball.
Louis was preceded in death by three children, Irene R. Blunt-Medley, Ralph Blunt, and Deborah Blunt; and four siblings, Gertrude Blunt, Lizzie Blunt, Frances Blunt, and William Blunt. He is survived by eight children, Louis T. Blunt, Jr., of Churchton, James E. Blunt of Shady Side, Vionetta Mullen of Annapolis, Diane Blunt of Churchton, Elizabeth Jones of Annapolis, Frederick L. Blunt of Churchton, Ernest Blunt of Churchton, and Doris Douglas of Landover; two sons-in-law, Russell Jones and Larry Douglas; two daughters-in-law, Matilda Blunt and Darlene Blunt; 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great grandchildren.
The wake service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at the Franklin United Methodist Church, 5345 Deale-Churchton Road, Churchton. Burial will be at the Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville. Arrangements provided by William Reese & Sons Mortuary of Annapolis.
