Michael Garabedian Obituary

Dr. Michael E. Garabedian (Mike or Dr. G.), 78, of Severna Park died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on February 28. Mike was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where he pursued his 1st love, Chemistry. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Southern California in 1967. While working towards his Ph.D., he met and married the love of his life, Veronica. Dr. G's chemistry took the young couple all around the country, including a 16 year stop in Arlington, TX, before settling in Millersville, MD in 1987. After retiring from Chemistry, Dr. G worked as a consultant and a teacher. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his students. Mike also enjoyed chocolate, reading, Civil War history, football and chocolate (he really liked chocolate). Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Veronica Garabedian. He is survived by his son, Michael Garabedian (Cindy) of Southlake, TX; daughter Analecia Byrd (Lee) of Denton, MD; daughter Vanya Garabedian (fiancé Carsten) of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Erica Tant (Jimmy) of Glen Burnie, MD; 7 grandchildren - Victoria Garabedian, Elizabeth Garabedian, Catherine Garabedian, Angela Copper, Edwin Lee Byrd III, Lacy Tant and Valyn Tant. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas Garabedian of California. Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) on Thursday March 8, 2018 from 5 - 8 PM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9 at 5:00 PM at St. Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church, 375 Benfield Rd., Severna Park, MD; immediately followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay it forward through kindness and contributions to a cause close to your heart.

Our hearts are broken. We have been friends for many years. We had so many good times and happy adventures when all of our children were young. To Michael, Ana, Vanya and Erica, we pray that your memories will help turn your tears to smiles. We love you. Jeff and Diana
