I remember hearing her music as a child. So glad her rich music lives on. Heard one recently i'd never heard of before and it brought tears (of joy) to my eyes. Great legacy!!!

Aunty Mona's Families ( both on the Finnih and Alakija side) and my Mother, ( Late Mrs. L A Adewale's Families held very close relationships.
Aunty Mona was like a big Sis. Aunt to me.
My Memories of Aunty Mona is quite extensive.
Upon Aunty Mona's return to Nigeria in the late 70's from US, with her 2 Children ( Lawrence and Nina, ages 4 & 2 thereabout) whilst I, in the UK, my Mother, had been speaking of Aunty Mona with praises to me and how Aunty Mona was talented in the Arts of Music, it's Productions, Song Writing, Singing and Live Performances.
There were so many successful Concert Engagements she held in Lagos, Nigeria, with notable families, friends & fans in attendance.
Aunty Mona had an admirable Personality and style, unique to her and could not be matched.
Aunty Mona returned to the US to care for her two Children. She continued in pursuit of her Music Career and made remarkable Success Solely. She also made contributions to the Healthcare Sector in the United States.
Her Home in Maryland, USA, was a place she welcomed all, and her cooking especially during Festive times (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter etc.) was exceptional.
Must say, having missed out on her life for quite some time is regrettable, as I feel, what if I could have impacted in making any changes to this point.
My Aunty, is now resting in peace with the Lord.
Heartfelt condolences to the Finnih, Alakija and Kotun Families.
Her Children, Lawrence Brooks and
Nina Priscilla Brooks and Families.
Oluwa a duro ti awon omo yin Aunty Mona, ( God shall protect) Lawrence & Nina, their Families and Grand Children.
Oluwa a to won si ona dada ni gbogbo gba, by God's Power and Grace.
Amen.
