Robert Overstreet

1926 - 2016

Robert M. Overstreet, Jr., age 90, died on Saturday, April 14, 2016 in Snow Hill, MD. Born in Sedalia, MO he was the son of the late Robert and Lena H. Overstreet. He attended the University of Kansas, Central Missouri State College (Missouri University) graduating in 1949. He later received his Master of Music Education from the University of Missouri. He was a United States Army Veteran, and had worked with his father in the Acme Cleaners in Sedalia, and the National Institute of Dry Cleaning in Silver Spring. MD before moving to Annapolis where he worked for Montgomery Ward Co. for 20 years. There he was active in the music program of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, and was also an assisting organist. He retired and moved to Ocean Pines, MD in 1986. He was a member of the Ocean City-Berlin Optimist Club, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he served as their church organist and choir director. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard, 3 Church St., Berlin, MD 21811.
