Stephen Schatz Obituary

Stephen M. Schatz, 48, of Millersville, previously of Glen Burnie, died June 8 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mr. Schatz was born Feb. 19, 1961, in Baltimore, to Mark N. and Ann R. Schatz. He attended Arthur Slade Regional School as a child and graduated from Martin Spalding High School in 1979. He received his bachelor's degree from The University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1983.
He worked at the Baltimore City Life Museum as the Director of Operations for 10 years until it closed. He then became the Assistant Director of Facilities at University of Maryland, College Park for over 10 years.

He was a longtime member of the Ann Arrundell County Historical Society as well as former Treasurer, Vice President, and member of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church. His hobbies included woodworking, biking, traveling and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of nine years, Evelyn Hoban; his son, Joseph Mark Hoban Schatz of the home; his parents, Mark N. and Ann R. Schatz of Glen Burnie; and his sister, Barbara Lee Schatz of Baltimore.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered June 12 at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville. Interment in Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ann Arrudell County Historical Society, PO Box 385, Linthicum, MD 21090-0385.
