Thomas Davis Obituary
Thomas Davis, 91 of Severna Park died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 30. Tom was born on December 5, 1929 in Kingston, PA to William and Alveretta Davis and spent his early childhood in Plymouth, PA before moving with his family to Baltimore as a teenager. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1948 and the University of Maryland, College Park in 1954 with a degree in Industrial Arts. Tom taught at Benjamin Franklin Junior High School in Curtis Bay, Landsdowne Senior High School and the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute where he became head of the Engineering Department. Tom also worked for 10 years at the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company before retiring. Tom married the love of his life, Dorothy (Wilson) on August 2, 1952 and moved to Severna Park in 1957 where they raised their three children. Their home became the center of extended family activities throughout the years where many special memories were created and everyone was always welcome. Tom and Dot enjoyed Maryland Football and Basketball where they were season ticket holders for many years. They also enjoyed motor homing across North America visiting 49 states and most of the Canadian Provinces. Tom was a jack of all trades and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Tom is survived by his loving wife Dot of 68 years; his daughter Carol Hall (Tim); daughter Sharon Williams (Jay); son Tom Davis (Mike Colgan); and 6 grandchildren Joel Schellhammer (Allie), Nate Hall (Megan), Rachel Hall, Robin Prunty (Michael), Lance Lowrey, and Cassy Lowrey; and 6 great grandchildren Olivia Hall, Catherine, Caroline, Charlotte, Margaret, and Jack Schellhammer. He is also survived by a sister Audrey Brooks of York, PA and a brother Ronald Davis (Carolyn) of Severna Park as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family, friends and neighbors. All family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Tom on Saturday, August 28 at 1pm at Bay Area Community Church, 884 Chesterfield Road Annapolis, MD 21401 followed by a reception at the church.
