Thomas A. Sutty, 70, a 40-year resident of Crofton, died Jan. 9, 2010 at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Brownsville, Pa. He earned a Bachelors degree in English and Journalism from California University of Pennsylvania and a Masters degree in Journalism from University of Maryland.
He was the President of Capital Communication Systems, Inc., a publishing company in Crofton. Mr. Sutty served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1968. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ocean City, Md.
Tom was an avid reader. His interests included spending time at his vacation home in Ocean City, fishing and spending time with his two grandsons. He enjoyed attending Ravens football games and Orioles baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Scott Sutty.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Sutty, whom he married on Aug. 25, 1962; his son, Eric M. Sutty and his wife, Sandy; and his grandsons, Matthew and Nathan.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at All Hallows Episcopal Chapel, 864 West Central Ave., Davidsonville. Interment in Lakemont Memorial Gardens.

I just found the out this morning of Tom's passing away. I still have on my
office wall Tom's sketch and comments of each team member from our undefeated 9-10 old team from 1981.
