Tom's sermons were powerful and instructive as a young high schooler and college student on the occasion that he spoke at EP. It was evident that he had a great love for the LORD, the Word of God, and his wife and children. When I was in college, I was presented with some different and strange theological perspectives that the majority of my friends were believing and following at the time. My father suggested talking to Tom Wenger about them and getting his perspective. Even though Tom did not know me well, he agreed to meet with me and some other friends and discuss these perspectives, their implications, and the Word. His openness to take time to meet, his generosity to pay for the meal, and his thoroughness in addressing every aspect of the topic and answering all of my questions have left a lasting impact on my life.
I am very thankful to the LORD that I was able to know Tom in the small way that I did and to see a glimpse of his life. It was evident from watching him with his family at EP picnics, VBSs, church, and Christmas events his love for each of his children. Often I would see him carrying one child and holding the hand of another engaging with them and looking at them lovingly.

Our family loved Tommy! We knew the Wengers briefly from Asquith. Then we all became friends , as I was one of the nurses at Beachmont . Our children grew up going to camp. ( John III, and Kevin Goedeke). Tom touched so many! He was instrumental in kids coming to the Lord, including our kids. Tom was a big kid himself and played in all the camp games. He was wonderful and natural with the kids. The kids listened and learned. Our hearts are heavy for his entire family.
