Tim O'Neil Obituary



O'NEIL, Tim, 73, of Tracy's Landing, MD & Derry, NH, died peacefully at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was the loving husband of Susan M. (Beck) O'Neil for 50 years. Born in Waltham, MA, he was a son of the late Charles F. O'Neil, Sr. and Astrid A. (Anderson) O'Neil, and the brother of the late Charles F. O'Neil Jr. Tim worked as a project manager with Turner, Foulger-Pratt, and Corenic construction companies in Washington D.C. until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He graduated from Suffolk University in Boston, MA with majors in English and Philosophy. Tim was an avid sailor and spent time sailing on the Chesapeake, the East Coast and the Bahamas on his sailboat The Whaleback. He had a passion for classical music, nature and politics. Besides his wife, he leaves his three daughters: Jessica A. Humphrey and her husband Jack of Exeter, Caitlin M. Faught of Seattle, WA, and Mollie T. Bernier and her husband Gregory of Derry, NH. He was the cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren: Emily, Hannah, Caroline, Amanda, Aedon, Addison and Sophia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 18, 2016 at 9:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, Wickford. A Committal Service will follow at 1:30 pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, Ma. Relatives & friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Susan, as you already know, I'm sincerely sorry for the loss of your soul mate, Tim. I know you have a lot of wonderful memories of your life together which I hope will help you get through the healing process. I wish I could say or do something to make you feel better but I already know that all you need now is the love of your family and friends.....and time to heal your heart. Some of my earliest childhood memories at family gatherings were playing with Tim and Chaz. This was in late '40s and early '50s.

I was saddened to hear of Tim's death today. I worked for Tim many years ago when he worked at Pro Con Construction. I remember him as a funny man, always making us smile. My thoughts and prayers are with Susan and the family.
