I met Vernon in 1970. My group was on the same show as his in NY. The musicians didn´t show up for my group but Vernon and his group The Barkays volunteered to backup for my group. What gift to this planet he was. I´m in mourning today because today is the day I found out he is gone. My condolences to his family and friends.. Gail Starke
