William Patrick Hooper

1948 - 2023

Severna Park resident, William Patrick Hooper, 75, died on October 3, 2023, while under the care of Hospice of the Chesapeake. The family thanks the Hospice of the Chesapeake for the loving care he received. He is survived by his wife, Judith, sons Patrick Hooper of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and Daniel Hooper of Ellicott City, MD, his daughter Jane Madden of Burke, VA, and 5 grandchildren. Bill was an army veteran and served with the Joint Security Group in Panmunjom, Korea. Following his Army service, he earned a master's degree in meteorology from the University of Wisconsin. He was employed as a research scientist at the Naval Research Lab and retired in 2021. Bill was an avid hiker and loved being outside. He was a supportive father and husband, as well as a devoted grandparent. Burial will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
