HARRISVILLE- Harley J. Hooper, 32, of Harrisville, died on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, at Upstate Medical Center, following a brief illness. Harley was born on December 18, 1993, in Watertown, NY, the son of Howard Hooper and Susan (Swank) Young.

Harley was a vibrant, funny, and witty individual who touched the lives of many. His love for adventure was evident in his hobbies, which included skydiving, bungee jumping, parasailing, hang gliding, renting a Corvette and enjoying the thrill of going up to 130mph, taking an open door helicopter ride over NYC, braving the Edgewalk at the CN Tower in Toronto, and even taking flying lessons. He enjoyed participating in youth bowling in his younger years and he was also the Salutatorian of his graduating class of 2012 at Harrisville Central School.

In 2018, Harley graduated from SUNY Empire with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. His ambitious nature led him to a fulfilling career as a Mail Clerk at the Gouverneur Correctional Facility, where he was grateful for the support of his co-workers during his illness. In addition to his job as a Mail Clerk, he also worked at Kinneys Central Fill in Gouverneur for the past few years, where he also met some wonderful co-workers.

Harley loved spending time with his friends, especially at his home enjoying his hot tub and fire pit. Harley had big dreams and plans, which included a hot air balloon ride, more skydiving, white water rafting, and visiting all 50 states. His adventurous spirit and zest for life were truly awe-inspiring.

Above all, Harley was a family man. He cherished spending time with his family and was particularly fond of attending Clarkson University Hockey Games and the Syracuse Mets baseball games with his dad, nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong NY Mets fan and attended several games with his dad.

Harley leaves behind his loving mother, Susan (Keith) Young, Harrisville, father, Howard Hooper and his companion Jane Benson, Harrisville, siblings Jennifer (Michael) Meagher, Harrisville, Melissa Martin, Harrisville, and Alex Hooper, Heuvelton, step-siblings Ashley Young, Harrisville, and Michael Young, Harrisville, along with his many loved nephews and nieces; Ethan and Cadence Atkinson, Isabel and Averie Meagher and Blake, Owen, Madison, Oliver and Maddox Martin, all of Harrisville.
