Rose Weir Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frary Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Harrisville on Mar. 19, 2026.
Rose "Bonnie" Weir, age 86, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday night, March 17, 2026 surrounded by her friends and family. Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home, Harrisville. A Celebration of Life will held at a later date.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Wood, of Watertown and Mark (Lisa) Weir, of Harrisville; her grandchildren, Magdelena and Taylor Wood, of Brooklyn, Alec (Mackenzie) Weir and Nickolas (Arianna) Weir, all of Harrisville; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Evelyn (Angus) Fraser and Vickie (Michael) MacAleese, all of Harrisville; her sisters-in-law and their spouses; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Warren and Dale Miller; and her mother-in-law.

Rose was born on May 18, 1939, in Kalurah, NY, the daughter of John and Elsie Carfora Miller. She graduated from Harrisville Central School and went to work as a telephone operator for New York Telephone for a period. She then became a civilian employee on Fort Drum. She retired in 1996 as a Food Activity Manager.

Bonnie loved everything family. She was a true matriarch. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and traveling wherever and whenever she could. She was a social person, still working at Chuck's Market in town. She genuinely enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Harrisville Fire Department or Lewis County Hospice.
