I first met Bill when I was about 20 years old, working as a legal secretary for my father, who was opposite him on a matter. He was such a gentleman - compassionate and genuinely interested in what made a person who they were. Years later, after law school and time out of state, I came back to Annapolis. Next to my father (who was precisely 2 days older than Bill), Bill was my greatest mentor. He always had time for me and extended tremendous confidence in me. I loved our time on Inns of Court, and years later, our regular lunches at Paul's. (Dag, I think Michelle really did get the final hug!) A man of great faith, good humor, and deep thought, I can hear him laughing as he would retell a funny story, and I can see his serious reflection as he worked through the stickiest of issues. I hope I will carry forward and project, if even just a smidge, the good natured, professional conduct that he always modeled. I will miss him ("me and Julie!") greatly. Dear Priscilla, you have my deepest sympathy.
