Charles Grant Lll Obituary

Obituary for Charles Edward Grant III August 31, 1959 - September 30, 2025 Charles (Charley) Edward Grant III, 66, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away of heart failure and went home to his Heavenly Father on September 30, 2025. He was born in 1959 in San Pedro, California to Dorothy and Jim Grant, and was the 6th of 10 siblings. He attended elementary, secondary, and trade schools in San Pedro, California. Blue collar to the core, Charley served in the US Navy and then worked for several years in CA, first in construction and then as a certified HVAC technician. He later moved to Illinois and began his career as a skilled concrete finisher, working on jobs throughout the northern part of the state. Charley and Karen were members of the Real Life Church in Springfield. He was that guy who always had a joke or a kind word for everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Jim Grant, his in-laws, Robert and Marilyn Cady, and his beloved aunt, Mary Jo Grant Walker. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Karen, his son, Austin, his treasured dog, Kenzie, his 9 siblings, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held later this year.
