Eva J. Reilly

Eva Reilly, 99, of Springfield, died on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at her home.She was born on July 22, 1925, in Illinois, the daughter of Francesco and Dominica (Marcelli) FaFoglia. Eva married John Reilly in Lake Tahoe, NV. He preceded her in death, on December 29, 1983. Eva graduated from Feitshans High School in 1943. She went on to work in administration for the County Clerk's office, retiring in 1974 after 11 years of service. Eva was a former member of the High Rollers Bowling League. She enjoyed solving N.Y. Times crossword puzzles, was an avid card player, and loved trees, blue skies, the outdoors, and her four dogs (and other animals). Eva also liked parasailing and tap dancing. She was an adventurous traveler who had a good sense of humor. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gino and Angelo FaFoglia; sister, Olympia "June" Ray; infant daughter, Barbara Jay Donley; granddaughter, Allison Savage; and two step-children, Mary Ann Thomas and Penny Irwin. Eva is survived by her children, Burma Kay (George) Savage, and Timothy A. and C.A. "Smokey" (Barbara) Donley, all of Springfield; step-children, J. Michael Reilly, Mary Ann Thomas, Marcella Oberlein, Pat Forman, and Penny Irwin; grandchildren, Angela (Darren) Ice and Shantel (Brad) Rotherham; great-grandchildren, Molly, Audriana, and Geoffrey; one great-great-grandchild, Reese Louise Wood; many step-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, followed by the Ceremony at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Zachary Samples officiating. A private Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
