Niki Carraro Obituary

Niki Ann (Fawbush) Carraro, 67, slipped away peacefully at home on September 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. In that quiet moment, she found peace she so deserved and was joyfully reunited with her beloved son, Justin, and her mom, Betty – two souls she missed every single day.

Niki battled cancer for 5 years. She faced her diagnosis with remarkable strength, grace, and beauty until the very end. Though the journey was difficult, she never let it diminish her spirit. She was a strong, inspiring woman, and her family takes comfort knowing she is finally at peace.

Mimi, as she loved to be called, had a beautiful way of filling her family's lives with warmth and love. She cherished traditions and never missed a chance to gather everyone-whether for birthday celebrations, Christmas cookie baking, or holiday weekends. No matter how she was feeling, she made sure the gang was together. Niki also had a passion for sports and rarely missed the chance to cheer on her children and grandsons at their games. Family was paramount to Niki.

Niki is preceded in death by her beloved son, Justin; her mom, Betty Fawbush; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Carraro.

She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 49 years, Johnny; her daughters, Jamey Carraro (Shireen) and Stevie Carraro (Tony Mozer); and her adored grandsons, Jackson Carraro, Mason Fentress and Max Mozer. She also leaves behind her father, Bill Fawbush; her sister, Billie Kuhn (Jim); and her brothers, Steve (Cheryl), Shawn (Terrell), and Quint (Cheryl) Fawbush; as well as a treasured circle of nieces and nephews.

The Carraro family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Norton Cancer Team for their dedicated efforts in bringing Niki the best care possible. A special thank-you goes to Dr. Jaspreet Grewal and his team, whose expertise and kindness truly reflect the very best in medicine.

Those fortunate enough to have known Niki are invited to honor her and surround her family with love at her funeral mass and visitation.

Her Funeral mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, Prospect, Ky 40059. Visitation will be from 9am to 11am, immediately prior to mass.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Niki since I was in my early 20s. Seeing her and her family at many ball games that Justin played in with my nephew Justin R! We were also very lucky to see her and Johnny at many games that Jackson played in with our son Dalton. Always so kind and beautiful! Sorry to hear she passed, but grateful she is no longer suffering with cancer. All our love to the family! Mary Kay and Larry Chadwick

While we didn't know Nikki, we understand the loss she experienced with her mom and son going to their final resting place before her and now her loss to the family and her friends is deeply felt. May the Lord give all of you the strength to continue without her presence. Blessings, Joe and Joy Zimmer ( members of St. Bernadette)
