DEAN EDWARD ZYLICH, age 82, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Binghamton, New York, on June 13, 1943, Dean was the cherished son of Sarah Elizabeth Snyder and Seaman Zylich. His life was marked by quiet strength, deep devotion, and a steadfast commitment to those he loved.
In 1969, Dean married Larraine May Sculley, the love of his life. Their bond was so enduring that they reaffirmed their vows in 1975, a testament to the depth of their connection. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, resilience, and unwavering support.
Dean dedicated his professional career to IBM, where he worked as a programmer until his retirement. His meticulous mind and gentle demeanor earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
At Dean’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM at First Evangelical Free Church, 1435 Pecos Street in Las Cruces. Military honors will be rendered by the Holloman Air Force Base Steel Talons Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League – El Perro Diablo Detachment, in recognition of Dean’s service and patriotism.
Inurnment of his cremains will be held at a later date.
