Michael Reeder Obituary

Michael (Mike) G. Reeder, formerly of Pierre, South Dakota, currently of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away September 2, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born May 23, 1950, in Charlotte, North Carolina to Jay T and Margaret (Ford) Reeder.
Mike joined the US Army in 1972 and spent 13 years on Active Duty with duty stations in Fort Ord CA, Fort Gordon GA, Korea and Germany, where he met his wife of 43 years, Shelley (Jones). They returned to South Dakota and settled in Pierre 1984 where Mike worked for the US Post Office for 13 years and as a Biomedical Equipment Technician for Indian Health Services for 13 years. He retired in 2009 and enjoyed his retirement years traveling to National Parks and Monuments throughout the US.
There will be an interment at Black Hills National Cemetery on 19 September at 12:30 with a Celebration of Life being held at the Legion Cabin in Pierre on 20 September at 12:00. It is requested that no funeral attire be worn, but come in comfortable, colorful clothing (Mike's preference would be Carolina Blue).
Cards may be sent to Shelley Reeder at 304 Port Charlotte, Ft. Pierre SD 57532, until 10 October and 4064 Cherry Cider Lane, Las Cruces NM 88007, after that.
